Prosperity (part 2)

Prosperity (part 2)

I always thought God was out to get me and He wasn’t concerned about my success in life. As a man who innately wanted to protect, provide for my family, and have influence in my community, this was a tough pill to swallow.

But that isn’t the story of the Bible

When I found out that God wanted my family and me to be blessed it changed my perspective on God, the Bible and this Christian life we are called to live.

The biblical definition of prosperity means To push forward. The meaning has nothing to do with money. There are some things you will obtain on your own, but there is more when God gives you a push. God puts you in places you could’ve never gone on your own. God will push you forward if you’ll let him. He’ll push your marriage into great places it couldn’t have gone on your own. Your kids will go farther than they could’ve gone on their own. Your career…you get the idea!

When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
